Ratio problems

For this task, I had to solve a word problem about ratios.

At the start, it was quite complicated so I had to use simultaneous equations to create a single equation that would find out the price the present. At first, I created equations that would find out the price of the present and Sotaro's and Anthony's original savings. Next, using simultaneous equations, I combined the three equations into one to find out the price of the question. After that, using the price of the present and the other two equations, I found out Sotaro's and Anthony's original savings. If I were to do this again, I would round up the numbers so that it would be easier to solve the equations.

Relative frequency- Dancing man code

For this project, I had to work in groups of four in which my group members are Holly, George and Anthony. We had to find out what the encrypted text originally was and which literary piece it came from. Even though at the start we didn't really work well together, but at the end we found out many interesting things. Eventually we found out that the encrypted text was from Alice in the wonderland  by Lewis Carroll.

Probability

On this worksheet, I had to work out the probability of different things by drawing a sample space diagram. I found this worksheet quite easy, even though there were a few mistakes on certain questions. I will improve next time by reading the questions more carefully and check my answers.

Transformations

Transformations
On this sheet, I had to use a shape to find the final shape with different transformations for example: enlargement, rotation, reflection and translation. I also had to find out a single transformation to the final shape but I couldn't find it. I found this activity quite easy because the shape was easy to draw.

Pythagoras theorem

Pythagoras theorem

In this activity, I had to prove the Pythagoras theorem with a set of numbers in a table. At first, I didn't really understand what was the Pythagoras theorem but after working on this activity for a while I started to understand what was going on. At home, I made a presentation about the Pythagoras theorem  and how to prove it. I compared my own theory with the Pythagoras theorem and my theory turned out to be correct even though it was more complicated. I could have improved my work by including the table.

Mixing paints

In this activity, I used the given ratios of red and white in different tins of pink to mix into a different shade of pink, each with a different amount of red and white. I multiplied the ratio of the new shade of pink with different numbers until I could use the two given tins of pink to add into the new shade of pink. The second half of the activity was about using two new tins of paint to make different shades of pink. But I couldn't find a simpler way of finding the new shade of pink in the third section and for some reason, I got all of the answers half right.

Design me a garden

In this activity, I had to design a garden according to the provided measurements of items, using a scale of 1:3. I also had to draw how the garden looks like and the road which was 1m wide.

I found working out the roads the hardest because I had to draw it 0.3cm wide because of the scale. I also forgot to include the scale on the drawing. At the end, I also found the area left on the garden which was 2011.32m².

Here are my working out:
